Studying music has been shown to enhance children’s performance in math and other subjects, increase expressive abilities, foster creativity, develop discipline and a sense of self-worth, and promote cooperation. Music study increases children’s attention span and helps the development of cognitive and motor skills.
Many parents, educators, and students often ask questions about the value of music. Some of us have been asked why we work so hard to nurture a lifetime love for music and performance. The following will provide many answers about why I believe music should be an integral part of every child's life.

Self-Confidence. Being able to go from learning notes and rhythms to producing meaningful music instills in your child a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence.
Coordination. Hand, eye, body posture and thought -- all working together are the ingredients of playing an instrument. These coordination skills transfer to many other aspects of life.
Teamwork. Every child wants to be part of a group. Theory and musicianship classes, in addition to group performances and recitals, provide just such unique opportunities.
